Instead, we have informal catch-up coffee mornings and sports clubs, where there’s no pressure to ‘network’ – just the opportunity to say hello to like-minded people who might be able to help you. And vice versa.

More than just science!

There is a thriving sports and social club at the centre, hosting a wide range of sporting and recreational activities organised within the science centre community on-site. Along with regular informal events and a on-campus canteen serving a host of fantastic food. 

With over 25 groups with activities ranging from tennis and football, to martial arts and singing, there is something for everyone to get involved in at the Culham Science Centre.

Dianne Heath
Centre Director
Dianne is extremely customer focused and passionately believes in ‘bringing service back to businesses’.  Dianne has worked within the Science & Technology Park/business centre industry for nearly twenty years including the mobilisation of new contracts and leading sales and marketing team.  She has experience of negotiating complex commercial transaction with companies of all sizes from start-ups to corporations

Lesley Nicoll
Assistant Centre Manager
Lesley's background is in property and operational asset management, mainly project managing capital bids and build programmes in educational settings, having worked in both the public and charitable sectors.
Outside of work Lesley enjoys meeting up with family and friends, walking her dogs in the countryside near to where she lives, house renovation and interior design.

Shelley Furey
Centre Director
Shelley is Centre Director in Bracknell Enterprise & Innovation Hub as well as in Culham Innovation Centre. She is passionate about her role and enjoys leading her team to deliver excellent levels of service to her clients. In her own time Shelley enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Wendy Tindsley
Innovation Director
Having started out with a scientific PhD, I moved straight into the world of commerce, setting up several small businesses of my own. This proved to be a great training ground for the next stage in my career, which was in Government funded business support. Nine years of which were with OI, where I supported lots of ambitious businesses to achieve rapid and sustainable growth.  I had three years away from Oxford Innovation, co-founding an accelerator programme and most recently, I was involved in business development for a high-tech start-up, until I re-joined Oxford Innovation again to support businesses in Innovation Centres in Oxfordshire.
Tracey Carr
Assistant Centre Manager
Tracey joined Harwell IC earlier on in the year and brings a lot of skills from her previous background in facilities. She lives locally with her husband and two older children, and their cockapoo called Lola! Outside of work Tracey enjoys meeting with friends, walking Lola with the family and loves being outdoors.
Owen Wheeler
Laboratory Supervisor
Owen has a background in GMP and lab management with a wealth of experience in lab operation and equipment servicing. He has experience in managing a variety of labs including category 3, tissue culture and PCR labs, he comes from a background in cell biology and lentivirus. Owens passion is being part of a company he knows is making a difference to lives.
Rebecca Brookes
Customer Experience Assistant
Rebecca has over 5 years of experience in Administration and customer service in both the UK and Australia. In 2017, she travelled to Australia, New Zealand, and Bali for a year before returning to the UK. She competed in national and international Acrobatic gymnastics for over 10 years, qualifying for the world championships in 2010 but couldn’t participate due to an elbow injury. Rebecca loves helping others, providing efficient customer service, and working both independently and as part of a team. She enjoys socializing with family and friends on weekends and taking her daughter for special days out together.
